The Exhibit will open on September 15th, 2012
with a reception from 6-8pm
at Starkweather Arts Center in Romeo and
will run through October 6th, 2012
ABOUT THE JUDGE: A resident of Birmingham, Mich., Victor Pytko majored in astronomy at Indiana University 1963-67 where he also studied painting and drawing. Pytko later studied art at institutes in Canton and Toledo, Ohio, and at Monroe Community College, Ann Arbor Art Association and the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center in Michigan where he teaches mixed media and is a past board member. Pytko paints in both representational and non-representational styles. He paints on both hardboard and wooden panels as well as canvas, and he often incorporates found objects, newspaper text and builder’s materials such as sand, concrete patch, or drywall tape.
The top 12 pieces, chosen by Victor Pytko, will travel to sponsoring galleries in the thumb area. Participating galleries are Art Capsule, located at 5 South Washington St., Oxford, MI and Gallery 194, located at 194 W Nepessing St # 101 Lapeer, MI.
